This is not your average cheap and nasty home surveillance system!!
Our surveillance kit is highly advanced and absolutely packed full of features so why settle for an inferior product just to save a few bucks. Everyone wants to save money and do a great deal but what's the point if it doesn't do what you need it to? We constantly receive calls from people who have bought poor quality cheap DIY surveillance kits whilst overseas or from a supplier who has no idea how the unit works and to make matters worse, the cameras are of such poor quality that proper identity was simply out of the question. Be very careful if purchasing from non reputable people or business as you could end up with no warranty, no support, no backup, NTSC cameras and/or DVR (not much good in Australia) and basically garbage.
Make no mistake, whilst this system in inexpensive and supplied with high resolution PAL Sony CCD weather proof colour and IR cameras, it is also supplied with 8 x 20m cables ready to plug and play, 12V power supply, 1 Terabyte of SV or Server type Hard Drive, USB interface for easy backup and archiving, VGA and TV out plus the ability to remotely access the DVR system via LAN, Internet and Mobile Phone basically from anywhere in the world.
Now these are the same features and functions one would typically find in the more advanced and more costly professional DVR systems however, Hidden Camera Surveillance is offering the same to our customers at no extra cost. This is a Professional DIY home or office 8CH H.264 DVR surveillance supplied with 8 high resolution Sony CCD outdoor weatherproof IR CCTV cameras, excellent remote networking including mobile phone, all ready to plug an play. Depending on your location we can also arrange for installation but please note, there is no wire cutting required. Each camera and cable supplied with the kit has what we call a "BNC connection". A BNC connection is basically a bayonet like fitting which is a click on and turn the right and that's it. In other words it's not rocket science, anyone can do it and all you need supply is a TV or PC VGA monitor. Our DVR supports both. If using your home or office TV, simply connect the DVR to AV In of your TV monitor and at the remote control select AV1 or AV2. Watch TV as normal but if you want to see all 8 cameras on your TV, playback recordings etc, there is no need for a separate monitor. If you prefer to use a separate TV or LCD monitor, it's your choice albeit not essential.
We also provide a 12V power supply with each kit. The 12V power supply is harmless and an electrician is not required. Plug the 12V power supply into a normal power socket and you will note that we have also supplied a 8 piece DC connector. Each cable supplied has a BNC connection and DC connection at each end. One end connects to the camera and the other to both the DVR and the 12V power supply. In this regard you do not need to find power wherever the camera is installed. The 20m lead to the camera supplies the power so other than mounting the camera in your desired location and connecting it to the cable, the hard part is done.
What is a UTP Balun?
Please note that our 4 and 8CH DVR surveillance kits are available with various cabling options which really has no affect on pricing as such and just a personal choice. Just to explain, lets assume for one moment that you already have blue Cat5 cable available throughout your home of office. Cat5 cable is different to coaxial cable which has a solid copper core. Cat5 cable may have many pairs and each pair could be used to transmit video from each camera back to the DVR system. In this case we would not be used the typical BNC and DC power type connection, we would be used a Video Balun as pictured. One end of the balun looks like a BNC connections but the other end has connections to attach to your Cat5 cable if that makes sense. Cat5 cable is cheap and will do exactly the same job so just a matter of personal preference.
If for example you wanted to install cameras in an office but access through the roof cavity is difficult, you may find that Cat5 of networking cable is already installed. In a situation such as this, why not put the existing cable to use. By finding the non used pairs in the cable, suddenly the job becomes that much easier.
